The river
The Sava is one of the most beautiful rivers in Slovenia. It flows nearby the city of Bled, one of the most famous places when it comes to tourism in Slovenia. The route near Radovljica is a real paradise and extends over two routes with a total of 41 kilometers. The fish stock includes rainbow trout, brown trout, grayling and the undisputed king of this body of water, the huchen. All of these fish species come in considerable sizes and numbers in this refuge. Especially for the endangered huchen, this body of water offers an abundance of life, which is why this species in particular grows into true giants due to its biological richness. The fish density with regard to huchen can be described as unique for Europe. The average size of caught fish is not infrequently well over a meter! In the 2018/19 season, no huchen was taken from our fished route! The Cast & Believe team supports legal total catch and release for this endangered fish species!

The accommodations
There are different types of accommodation (category 3 * up to 5 *), which can be booked as required. All pensions or hotels are located a few minutes away from the water at the most. The water is also easy and safe to wade and can be reached quickly through paths.

The season
Especially the huchenseason starts on October 1st and ends on February 15th.
The months of November, December and January are the best time to check out the great Huchen on the Sava. If the water levels are okay, this is the time when the fish will be by far the most active!
